The Staff at Dotson Eyecare

                                             Your Eye Doctor: Dr. Kyle Dotson

            Dr. Kyle Dotson, Optometrist, graduated from the Indiana University
College of Optometry in 1979, with highest distinction. He was honored
by being awarded membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society after
completing his undergraduate work at the University of Iowa.
     Dr. Dotson has been in private practice in Topeka since 1980. He served
as industrial optometrist at Irwin Army Hospital, Fort Riley, Kansas, and as
director of the Low Vision Clinic in Topeka.    Dr. Dotson has gone on
overseas missions to Honduras, Panama, and Jamaica to provide free eye
 examinations and eyeglasses for the needy.
     Many of our patients make comments such as, “That was the most thorough
eye examination I have ever had.” Dr. Dotson believes in doing very thorough
examinations for your eye health as well as for your eyeglass or contact lens
prescription needs. He is trained and experienced in diagnosing and treating
glaucoma as well as other eye diseases.
     Dr. Dotson is originally from Langdon, Iowa, a small town in the northwest
corner of Iowa. He and his wife, Mickey, make their home in Shawnee County. 
They are the parents of identical twin daughters, Kyla and Kendra, who graduated
from college in December of 2005.

                                                                                                        Lori is the office manager at Dotson Eyecare. She is responsible  for the overall operation of the office.  She has attended continuing education courses through the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, and has completed the Ophthalmic Dispensing and Marketing course through Hawkins Optical.  Lori is originally from Syracuse, Kansas, where she graduated from  Syracuse High School.  She then attended school at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.  She moved to Topeka in December 2001 and joined Dr. Dotson’s staff in February 2002.  Lori is the mother of 3 daughters and two stepdaughters.  She and her husband make their home in Southeast Topeka.  Lori believes that Dr. Dotson and his staff provide excellent care to the  patients, and she really enjoys the personal contact she has with them.

  

Jessica was born and raised in Topeka, where she graduated from Topeka High School.  She took courses from the University of Kansas.  Jessica joined Dr. Dotson’s staff in July of 2000.  She has attended continuing education classes through the Heart of America Contact Lens Society, and has also completed the Ophthalmic Dispensing and Marketing course through Hawkins Optical.  She is responsible for the contact lenses in the office, and enjoys getting to know patients one-on-one during their contact lens trainings.  Outside of the office Jessica enjoys spending time with her “son”, a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

 Jeannie was born in Atchison, Kansas, and grew up in a small town in Doniphan County.  Jeannie later moved to Hiawatha, where she graduated from Hiawatha High School.  She did coursework at Highland Community College.  Jeannie moved to Topeka in 1996, and has been with Dotson Eyecare since February of 2002.  She has received continuing education through the Heart of America Contact Lens Society.  She has also completed the Ophthalmic Dispensing and Marketing course through Hawkins Optical Laboratory.  Jeannie is the mother of an adorable little girl, Cienna Kaye, and has a wonderful stepdaughter, Trista.  Her family also consists of 3 dogs and 2 cats.  She enjoys spending time with her family in her free time.

        

  Mary was born and raised in Kansas City, KS.  She has been employed at Dotson Eyecare since August of 2004.  She graduated with her Associate of Science degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2003, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.  She hopes to acquire a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management within the next few years.  Mary moved to the Topeka area in March of 2004. She is enjoying her new neighborhood and the short drive to anywhere in Topeka. Mary says she is grateful to be a part of the caring and dedicated staff of Dotson Eyecare.  “I am truly impressed with the close relationships that are developed and maintained among Dr. Dotson, the Staff, and the Patients.”
